Deeana Owens is a Natural Born Leader. Born and raised in Oakland, California, Deeana has demonstrated a lifetime commitment to service and professionalism. She attended Clark Atlanta University, a Historically Black College, where she acquired her Bachelors of Arts Degree with a Major in Business and Minor in Marketing & Management. Deeana’s Real Estate career began when she was still a college senior. She met a Keller Williams agent at a local Art Walk near campus, in a neighborhood called Castleberry Hill. This agent later became Deeana’s mentor. Deeana was convinced to use her remaining available college classes to study Real Estate. Shortly thereafter, Deeana acquired her first Real Estate License in Georgia in 2006.
Senior year in college was a great year for Deeana, not for academics, but for Real Estate. She was recognized as Rookie of the Year with the Keller Williams Realty: The Atlanta Classic branch. Deeana sold a $2M home in the prestigious Buckhead Atlanta neighborhood during her first year in sales; all while a student in college.
Although Deeana was a rising star in her early Real Estate career, she noticed some changes in the market, prior to the 2008 crash. She predicted that the market shift would be difficult to sustain. Deeana transitioned her career to corporate sales and became an Account Executive in the Fortune 50 Corporate environment. Her work ethic and aptitude propelled her up the corporate ladder quickly. Deeana was relocated twice and promoted 3 times in 8 years. She has lived in Denver, Colorado and most recently New York City, where she also acquired a Real Estate License.
Deeana developed invaluable sales, marketing, and negotiation skills while performing as an Account Executive for UPS and later FedEx. She spent several years demonstrating and honing an ability to develop meaningful and mutually beneficial relationships with C-Level decision makers across diverse backgrounds. She leverages this experience to provide superior service in the Real Estate industry.
After several years as an Account Executive, Deeana decided to transition back to more impactful, life changing work. She moved home to Oakland in 2015 to pursue her Real Estate career. Deeana founded The New Oakland, a nonprofit organization with a mission to improve Wealth, Financial Literacy, and Homeownership in the African American community.
In October of 2019, Deeana acquired her Broker License and founded Owens Real Estate Inc., a company committed to service and community. Owens Real Estate is Deeana’s solution to an ever-changing industry where agents are being commoditized and devalued; where community and culture are being cannibalized. Deeana is committed to creating an agent-centered, client focused, community of culture and excellence. Contact Deeana today to have your Real Estate needs met.
